2024 International Prefects
Introducing our International Prefects for 2024.
Ollie Tangney
Hello! My name is Ollie Tangney, and I am one of the Bayfield High School international prefects for 2024. I enjoy the outdoors, such as going on tramps or rock climbing trips. I love skiing and water skiing, spending most of my summer and winter on a lake or up a mountain. I also enjoy meeting new people and traveling to different places. I wanted to be an international prefect because I want to be able to make friends from around the world and to showcase what we have to offer in Dunedin and New Zealand, providing an incredible experience for our wonderful international students. I enjoy all the new friends and connections I have made so far, and I can't wait to meet more!
Rita Liu
Hello everyone, my name is Rita Liu. I am 18 years old and I am in the Y13 this year. I am running to be this year's prefect because I am an international student and I am from China. I came to New Zealand to join Bayfield in 2020 and spent my entire high school career here, so I have a deep understanding of the problems and difficulties experienced by being an international student, as well as the problems that may arise at school or homestay. I choose to become an international prefect to help other international students. I am very friendly and good at communication. If you have any problems, I will actively solve them.
It's an honor to be this year's international prefect and to get to know you all.
Lucy Clarke
Hi my name is Lucy Clarke and I am one of the international prefects for 2024. I wanted to become an international prefect to help provide others with the same positive experiences at Bayfield as I have experienced throughout my years at school. I also enjoy meeting new people and I have really enjoyed getting to know some of the international students this year. At Bayfield I enjoy playing netball and have been lucky enough to attend many tournaments over the last few years. I also have an interest in food technology and enjoy cooking both inside and outside of the school. After high school, I plan on completing a Bachelor of Teaching at the College of Education and then someday travel. I am very excited to start my role and look forward to working with many of the international students throughout the year.
