On Thursday some of our International and ESOL students visited the Puketeraki Marae along with other international students from Dunedin schools.

Study Dunedin organized this visit so international students could experience Māori culture, learn about the history and explore the beautiful Karitane area.

We were very lucky to have beautiful weather and our students had the opportunity to go on a waka experience across the river, have a guided walk and hear about the history of the Huriawa Pā site or be involved in various activities at the marae. 

Our students had an enriching and enjoyable day filled with fun activities and cultural experiences. Students engaged in various activities that allowed them to immerse themselves in the rich culture and history of the marae and provided them with a unique opportunity to learn about various customs and traditions.
