Keeping warm this winter

International Dept —

As the colder weather sets in, it's important to know how to stay warm in winter. Let's explore tips and strategies to help keep cozy and comfortable during this season.

Extra uniform options to help you stay warm:

  • Trousers - they can be worn by anyone
  • Skirts can be worn with navy blue tights
  • Long sleeve shirts are also available

Staying warm during school hours is essential for your comfort and well-being. Layering up with your school uniform jersey, blazer, and jacket can help you maintain a comfortable body temperature throughout the day.

Here's why layering is effective: Each layer of clothing traps a thin layer of air close to your body, acting as insulation to keep you warm. The more layers you wear, the more air gets trapped, creating a barrier against the cold outside temperatures.

Start with your school uniform jersey as the base layer, which is usually made of a breathable material. The blazer can be added for an extra layer of warmth and style. Finally, top it off with a jacket to shield you from wind and rain when going outdoors.

By layering up, you can easily adjust your clothing to stay comfortable in changing temperatures. Remember, it's easier to remove a layer if you get too warm than to try and warm up if you're feeling cold. So, be prepared and stay cozy throughout your school day by mastering the art of layering your school uniform attire.

For extra warmth:

  • A thermal, polyprop or similar item can be worn underneath the shirts so long as it cannot be seen outside of or underneath the shirt (a white or light colour is preferable for these).
  • We have a school scarf
  • And when it’s raining, on top of the school jacket, an umbrella can also be used to keep dry
