Well done to all our netballers who played a sterling final in the rain last night to take out the top of their grade. Some words from Lavinia and Pokere...

I would first like to thank Sas, Ngahere, Dallas, Ameliah, Dylan, Soraiya, Kaiya, Shaina and all of the supporters of our team. A big up to Uncle Vaughan and Whaea Jacqui for taking us to all of our games and always supporting us. 

Wow! What an amazing season of netball we have all had together. So I had the privilege of being the co-captain with Pokere of our netball team, and I have enjoyed every step of the way. 

 After 35 years of not winning a single trophy for Benneydale School in the netball community, we worked hard, trained hard, and managed to achieve our goal of winning for not only our school but also for our small community. 

I'm really proud of how far our little school has come. I and Pokere as your guys' captains, encourage you guys to keep thriving and doing your guys best. Don't worry we will be watching you on the sideline while we go up and play for Te Kuiti High School next year. We might play next year with Te Kuiti - but we will always in heart be Benneydaliens.

This is the first time in a while that this school has had netball. We hope that next year you guys and girls will keep playing, and more people join the team. We loved representing the school and making memories with the students. I've enjoyed being a co-captain and seeing you guys come from not knowing what a netball was to being professionals at the sport. Me and Lavinia are very proud of you guys and we will be cheering you guys on next as we start for T.K High. We would like to thank Aunty Cherry for coming out of her way every week to umpire us.
