PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Catherine Neidhardt —

Tēnā koutou e te whānau,

We have arrived at the end of Term Two and what a term it has been!

This has been a term of fun-filled events, learning experiences and celebrations for our tamariki here at Bethlehem School. Some highlights of the term have been Life Education, Year 6 Camp, EPro8, Matariki, School Production prep and our traditional Cow Dump.

It has been wonderful to have whānau reconnect with us. It has also been great to meet so many new members of our Bethlehem School whānau at our 3 Way Conferences last week. Our students loved sharing their learning with their families.

We have also started our Accelerate Learning Programme for students in Years 5 and 6. Taught by myself and Vonnie Parker, this group of enthusiastic students meet once a week to explore a range of different subjects. The focus is on developing their critical thinking skills and learning how to apply them to real-life scenarios. Watch this space for further updates on this new programme next term. We are off to explore Ancient Civilisations to start Term Three!

You will see in the Important Information section of our newsletter that our amazing Whaea Ema is retiring after decades of service at our kura. We wish her and her whānau all the best.

Thank you once again to all those fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, aunties, uncles, cousins, family friends and community members who have helped us this term with our many events. Your support is invaluable and we thank you.

Have a great holiday break and we will see you all again for Term 3 and our school production - "KO WAI MĀTOU: The Story of Bethlehem School.

Ngā mihi nui

Catherine
