PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE-TUMUAKI PANUI

Catherine Neidhardt —

Welcome to Term Two!

Kia ora e te whānau

We are now well into Term 2 with the first two weeks already having flown by. It was wonderful to welcome our tamariki back to school after the break and to see their excitement.

One of the most popular places to be over the last few weeks has been our new court. Over the the break we had our new multi sport court installed and it is proving to be extremely popular. If you have not had a chance to pop down and check it out, come along and have a play. We are thrilled with it!

For this term, there are some super exciting events on their way for you to be aware of and bookmark in your diaries:

Science Week: Get ready to put on your lab coats and goggles because Science Week is just around the corner! Next week is National Science week and our school will be buzzing with exciting experiments and hands-on activities that will ignite curiosity and inspire a love for science in our students. Talk to your children and home about what they are exploring in their learning spaces.

Matariki Celebrations: Later on this term we will be celebrating Matariki. Matariki, the Māori New Year, is a time for reflection, renewal, and celebration. Through a series of educational activities, performances, and storytelling sessions, our students will learn about the significance of Matariki and its connection to the natural world and Māori culture. We will be hosting a hangi for our students and providing them with a truly authentic learning opportunity.

Production Announcement - Aladdin Jr: Mark your calendars because our 2024 production of Aladdin Jr is already underway with auditions. This year, our students will take to the stage to dazzle audiences with their creativity and talent in a production that promises to be a memorable experience for students, staff and our community.

As we embark on another term filled with learning, growth, and excitement, I want to express my gratitude to our dedicated staff, supportive whānau, and enthusiastic students who make our school community truly special.

Warm regards,

Cath
