PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

An exciting end to an amazing term at Bethlehem School
    by Catherine Neidhardt

Kia ora e te whānau,

What a spectacular way to finish off our term! Our three shows of Ko Wai Mātou were wonderful celebrations of our school's history, identity and people. Our tamariki did an exceptional job of learning their parts, supporting one another and performing with all their hearts for whānau and friends. It was powerful and authentic learning for our students to take on the roles of script writers, stage managers and designers. I could not have been more proud of all our students and their hard mahi over this past term. Ka pai!

I would like to acknowledge our incredibly dedicated staff who have been working on our show...in some cases, since last year. There have been countless hours of designing sets, rehearsing lines, sewing costumes and managing 465 actors. Our team at Bethlehem School is very special and they have been the foundation of our production since the very beginning.

On behalf of our staff, I would also like to thank all of the parents and whānau who gave of their time over the past few weeks to support out show. Whether it be costume creation or the final night transport of our sets and costumes in the rain, we couldn't have done this without your support. Tēnā rawa atu koe.

It has been a special term, with life at our kura starting to return to exciting schoolwide activities and community events. It has been so great to see our whānau supporting our kura and tamariki at the Colour Run. Having parents and whānau coming into our classes to celebrate students learning was also a highlight of the term. Our PTA Quiz Nite event also saw our community come together for fun and fundraising.

Next term brings all the excitement that comes with our school events at the end of the year. I will also return to hosting "Coffee Chats with Cath" again. These are opportunities for whānau to come grab a coffee with me on a Friday afternoon and chat about our kura. Dates will be sent out via email and on Facebook.

We look forward to seeing you join us at the many events that will be coming over the next few months. Have a great term break and we will see you on the first day back for Term 4 - Monday 17 October.

Ngā mihi nui

Cath
