COLOUR RUN CELEBRATIONS AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
    by Catherine Neidhardt

Kia ora e te whānau,

As you can see from the pictures, our PTA Colour Run last Friday was a HUGE success! Students from our kura took part in the unique challenge to run an obstacle course set up on our school field, all while being painted in a rainbow of colours. We had whānau volunteers throughout the course who provided assistance in the form of colour powder and water. I am not sure who had more fun, our tamariki or the adults!

To be able to have our entire school community back together again was simply wonderful. It is a sign of many exciting times to come with our production next week and other school events on the horizon for next term. Thank you to all those whānau and community members who helped on the day.

For me, the most special memory from the day was seeing our senior students lead our impromptu dance party and then hold hands and dance alongside our juniors from across the school. Our Bethlehem Kids are amazing young people.

I would also like to acknowledge the whānau who have donated trees to our school. Last weekend saw a planting bee for the trees with adults and children placing the new fruit trees into the ground by our staff car park.

Also a HUGE congratulations to the newest members of our Bethlehem School Board, Sanjit Kaur and Ross Edens. Thank you for your willingness to contribute to the forward vision of our kura. My congratulations are also extended to Rangi Ward, Sam Fellows, Frank Usherwood and Kerri Jones, members from our previous School Board who will continue to play significant role in our school's strategic planning for the future. I deeply appreciate your ongoing support and commitment to our kura.

Over the next week we will be presenting our school production Ko Wai Mātou at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Tuesday and Thursday. Our tamariki and kaiako have been working very hard over the past few months to bring the history of kura to life on stage. We cannot wait to share that experience with you all!

See you at the show,

Catherine
