Kia ora e te Whānau

Ko te reo kia tika, ko te reo kia rere, ki te reo kia Māori!

Get the reo right, let the reo fly, make the reo normal.

This week we celebrate Māori Language Week. This year's theme is ‘Ake ake ake - A forever Language’. Here at school we have been celebrating through different ways in our classrooms.

One of the things we are doing is challenging ourselves with answering the question

Kei te pēhea koe? Kei te _____ ahau. In different ways. We encourage you to have a go at home.

Tomorrow our Senior Kapa Haka are performing at the Ka Matakura o Ruataniwha, North Canterbury Kapa Haka Celebration. On Monday the rest of the school watched their performance and they were amazing. We wish them all the best for their performance.

Thanks to those who completed the Science survey. This information will be used along with the staff and student voice and used to help further develop our Science Programme.

Next Wednesday we will have our Pizza and wheels afternoon for those students who have earned enough Care cards to attend. An invite will come early next week for those who have earned this. Remember if you bring wheels to school you will also need to bring your helmet.

As the end of term approaches it is a good time to remember our school behaviour expectations and values. We have a few niggly behaviours happening at the moment and a reminder from home about how to behave at school would be appreciated.

Newsletter Competition

The newsletter questions for this week is - What language week is it?

Write your answer on a piece of paper, named, and pop it in the kete in the office. There is a  3 Care Card reward for the lucky Senior and Junior student drawn out. Last week's winners were Site Masoe and Barry Moore.
