Stars of the Week

Office (Bishopdale School) —

Congratulations to this week's Stars of the Week, who are:

Rayyan Ashenafi in Ti-Kouka

Rayyan joined our New Entrance class a few months ago and is settling in well.  He likes running and is looking forward to the school cross country next week.  He is also really enjoying the dance lessons.  Rayyan likes the different toys in class and really likes learning through play.  He thinks the lunches at school are great and said he likes the cold lunches better than the hot ones, but only just.

Shanti Mahanga-Ward in Matai

Shanti has been practising for our school cross country, which is being held next Wednesday.  She said she likes running but prefers to run faster rather than pacing herself.  She also said the dance lessons the children are enjoying at the moment are really good and she likes learning a dance routine with her class.  Shanti loves all the fun activities we have at school and is busy collecting enough CARE cards for the next pizza party later in the term.

Caitlyn Matthews in Kowhai

Caitlyn is a fast runner and is looking forward to the school cross country next week.  She is also enjoying the dance lessons, but said some parts are a bit tricky to learn and a bit too fast for her.  Caitlyn doesn't really have a favourite subject at school as she just likes learning.  When she grows up she would like to be a Police Officer.

Khalea McCausland in Koromiko

Khalea enjoyed the Road Safety presentation this morning and said it was a fun way to learn to be safe on the roads.  She is busy practising for the school cross country and managed to run 3 times around the school field this week, but it made her legs tired and she got a stitch when she sprinted some of the way.  Khalea said the dance they are learning is good, but some people are bumping into each other and needing ice packs.

Kylah Lukic in Kanuka

Kylah said the Road Safety presentation was really good this morning, and thought it was great that they got the chance to have a close up look at the road safety truck with all the cones on.  Kylah will be celebrating her 9th birthday soon and is looking forward to her birthday party.  She said the dance lessons at school are amazing but a little bit complicated to learn.

Georgia Gothard in Kahikatea

Georgia doesn't like running very much, but has been practising lots for the cross country.  She loves the dance lessons though.  She said her favourite subject at school is maths......or eating!  Georgia has over 50 CARE cards now and is looking forward to going to Mrs Mac's pizza party tomorrow.

Anahera Pairama in Totara

Anahera has been busy practising for cross country but said she's not really keen on it, she prefers playing netball and has been on the school netball team for the past two years. She said the dance lessons are good and really gets everyone moving.  Anahera's favourite lessons at school are art lessons with Mrs Pepperle, and tomorrow she will be attending Mrs Mac's pizza party and is hoping there will be cheesy garlic pizza.
