Stars of the Week
Congratulations to this week's Stars of the Week, who are:
Maddi Taituha-Ropoama in Tī-Kōuka
Maddi has been busy in class this morning putting together a train track and building things with the magnetic blocks, but first she went with her class to the hall for Hui Hui. At lunchtime she hopes there will be mac and cheese to eat, then after lunch she said they have mat time.
Xavier Lock in Kānuka
Xavier made two paper wristbands in class this morning. On one he drew a werewolf and on the other he drew an otter holding a square. Xavier said he likes werewolves and squares are his favourite shape. He said his mum also likes squares. At home he likes to have fun playing games on his iPad and watching fun things on YouTube.
Raibey Soriano in Koromiko
Raibey was so excited to be Star of the Week that he went back to class after having his photo taken and forgot to come into the staffroom for his milo and biscuit, so we had to go and fetch him. Raibey has been doing crafts in class this morning, but said he is not keen on gluing things together, preferring to use sticky tape. When he goes home he likes to play with his sister, but only a little bit.
Jessica Ischia in Kahikatea
Jessica has had a busy morning practising her reading skills. She said that maths is her favourite and at the moment her class is learning take aways. Jessica's favourite thing to do when she goes home is to hang out with her mum.
Jahmyn Hughes-Tahitahi in Kōwhai
Jahmyn has been learning the right way to make a sandwich in class this morning, using smooth peanut butter and jam, as part of the class's food and nutrition lessons. He loves playing with his friends in the playground during break times, and his favourite subject in class is art with Mrs Pepperle.
Rhythm Hughes-Tahitahi in Mataī
In class this morning, Rhythm has been learning how to calculate inside areas during his maths lesson. Rhythm is a member of our school soccer team, and when the children had soccer coaching lessons at school recently, they were very impressed with his soccer skills. Rhythm loves sport and also enjoys playing basketball at school.
Jayden Booth in Tōtara
Jayden said he has been learning lots in class this morning, and looks forward to break times when he can play with his friends. Jayden likes playing soccer and is captain of our school soccer team. His position in the team is mainly defence, but he said they do get swapped around a bit. When he goes home he said he likes to relax.
