Stars of the Week
Congratulations to this week's Stars of the Week, who are:
Irie-Leigh Hughes-Taylor in Kōwhai
Irie-Leigh is in our New Entrants class and loves coming to school and playing with her friends. She also likes maths and is learning how to add numbers together, which she said can sometimes be difficult. At home she likes to play with her favourite Barbie dolls. Irie-Leigh is looking forward to the school holidays when she can have fun and play with her brothers.
Honey Coster-Kopara in Koromiko
Honey enjoys playing on the playground during break times, especially shooting hoops with our fantastic basketball hoops. Honey loves to play with her friends. At home, she likes to go to the dairy with her friends, where they like to treat themselves to M & M's and icecream. During the school holidays she is hoping to visit her cousins which is a little way away and she needs to travel by car.
Arsalan Hussaini in Koromiko
Arsalan enjoys playing games with his friends in the playground during morning tea and lunchtime. At home he has a basketball hoop and loves to play basketball with his friend who lives next door. During the school holidays he is looking forward to playing roblox with his friend.
Athena Iyog in Mataī
Athena's teacher said she is doing really well in class. She likes drawing flowers and gardens, and playing on the playground with her friends. At home she likes to have her friends round to play and also likes to spend time playing with her little sister who is only 3. During the school holidays she plans on playing games on her iPad - when her little sister isn't around.
Mia Gothard in Tī-Kōuka
Mia likes to play with her friends at lunchtime and also likes to practise her writing in class. Her favourite is writing about the weekend. Recently Mum and Dad had to travel a long way to pick up a new car and Mia stayed up really late playing roblox. When she gets home she likes to put on her normal clothes and play on her tablet. Sometimes she walks home with her friend Caitlyn and they have lots of fun together. She said they have been best friends for 4 years and always will be.
Airika Ewings in Kahikatea
Airika enjoys art lessons and said she loves to sketch faces and weird things. At home she loves to play with her little cousin who is 6, but will soon be 7. She also likes to play Minecraft on her Playstation, as well as other games. Airika is looking forward to the school holidays and being able to have a relaxing break.
Aaliyah Whiri in Tōtara
Aaliyah likes playing sports at school, and at the moment is playing both touch and netball. Aaliyah was a member of our school netball team last year and will play again this year. Next year Aaliyah will be going to Casebrook Intermediate and hopes to play sport there too. Aaliyah is very excited to be going on school camp next term and is looking forward to all the activities they will be doing, and is glad they will be staying in cabins and not tents. At home she loves playing with her dog and her young brother.
