Stars of the Week
Congratulations to this week's Stars of the week, who are:
Yalda Shafiyee in Tī-Kōuka
Yalda enjoyed a lovely picnic at the park with her Mum and Dad during the holidays and played on the monkey bars afterwards. She also went to the trampoline park where she said you have to wear socks, and she can already bounce and turn around in the air. Yalda only started school last week and is already enjoying the stories the teacher reads and all the fun toys to play with in class.
Ocean Blue Mahanga-Ward in Kānuka
Ocean enjoyed her summer holiday, and especially enjoyed going to the library to choose her favourite books to read and play some fun games on the computers. She has two smaller brothers and a small sister, as well as her older sister, and loves spending time with them. At school she enjoys the school lunches and has a lot of fun in the playground, especially on the monkey bars but sadly already has some blisters on her hands.
Mia Taituha-Ropoama in Koromiko
Mia enjoyed a family trip to Nelson during the holidays, but unfortunately her dog had to stay behind as he wasn't allowed to go. At the moment she is helping to look after her Aunty's dog but said she doesn't feed it, her brother's have that job. She said she guesses she likes her new class but the playground is definitely the best.
Karlos Charlett-Cant in Kahikatea
Karlos was given a new pool for Christmas and had fun playing in it with his sister, although he said they did put some rocks in the bottom of it. He said he likes his new class and his new teacher, Mrs Branch. He said his favourite thing at school is playing in the playground.
Indy Taare Pao-Toleafoa in Kōwhai
Indy enjoyed playing at the park and also visiting a pool that's close by their home, but you need to take your parents with you when you go. She said she also slept a lot, so should be nicely refreshed for school. Indy said it was just really good to have time playing with her family. Indy likes her new class and teacher, and said she likes drawing the best.
Peyton Phelps in Kōwhai
Peyton spent some time at sKids over the holidays, so had exciting day trips out and fun activities to do. He also had lots of fun at the trampoline park. Peyton said he likes his new class and his new teacher Mrs Brown. He said he really likes being back at school and playing with his friends.
Kinley Meredith in Mataī
Although Kinley enjoyed the summer holidays, she said she is glad to be back at school, and likes being in her new class. She enjoyed the hot weather and played in the pool and with the water sprinklers at a family friend's party for their little boy, and generally had lots of fun. Kinley said she really enjoys art lessons at school.
Hamidah Rizwan Bistami in Tōtara
As well as having fun playing at the elephant park, Hamidah got together with with her friends Yona and Mary, and said she will keep in touch with Yona now that she is at her new school. She said she likes her new class and teacher, Mr Moore, and finds the lessons interesting. Her favourite subject to learn is maths.
