From the Tumuaki
Kia ora e te Whānau
Whatungarongaro te tangata toitū te whenua
As man disappears from sight, the land remains
Well, winter certainly seems to be on its way with the wet and windy weather. Please make sure that your child is dressed for the weather. We have a number who don’t seem to have a fleece at present and it’s certainly cold out there. We encourage outside play as much as possible so if the weather is dry and cold we still go outside.
We are doing a lot of reminding and talk at present about what to do if children get into a tricky situation in the playground, particularly. We encourage tamariki (children) to use their WITS – Walk Away, and Tell Someone (an adult). We always have two duty staff out in the playground and we wear hi vis so they should always be able to find someone. If there are any ongoing issues that you feel we need to know about then please don’t hesitate to let the office – or myself - know.
Newsletter Competition
Congratulations to Sefearah Cooper and Indy Taare Pao-Toleafoa who won 3 Care Cards for last week’s competition.
The question for the week is:-
What important Cultural celebration starts this week?
Write your answer on a piece of paper, named, and pop it in the kete in the office.
Attendance
Congratulations to Gabriel Jemar who won last week for being at school on time every day. This week we will be giving a New World Voucher for the one person drawn who has been at school every day for the week – on time.
Koromiko with Mrs Dixon enjoyed their icecreams for the class that had been at school the most. Let’s see if we can get a different class to win this week!!
