School Cross Country

Office (Bishopdale School) —

Kia ora koutou,

Wow! What an outstanding performance at the school cross country on Monday. On behalf of all the teaching staff, I would like to congratulate each and every one of the tamariki for finishing the race. We encouraged all the students to participate, show a positive attitude and do their ultimate best. Well done to you all, you should be proud.

A special congratulations to the Year 3’s and 4’s who qualified for the Junior Zones event at Avonhead School, next week on Tuesday (18th May). I will organise a meeting with those students this week to talk about what that will look like for them. They will bring home a notice at the end of this week for Parents/Caregivers which will have more information about the day.

Another big congratulations to the Year 5’s and 6’s who also qualified for the North-West Zones at Jellie Park. This event is not until early June so please keep an eye open for further notices about this.

Generally we only take the top 3 in those year levels as zones are another step up from the school cross country. They will be competing against students from other schools who train regularly and participate in other cross country type events outside of school. We know that they will represent themselves and Bishopdale School with pride.

There will be a presentation of certificates in assembly this Friday (14th May) for students, so please come along and join in on the celebrations of their achievements.
