Stars of the Week

Office (Bishopdale School) —

Congratulations to this week's Stars of the Week, who were treated to morning tea with Mrs Mac this morning.

Arsalan Hussaini in Tī-Kōuka

Arsalan said he likes to come to school but really enjoys playing games on his phone at home.  He said the games are great with fire and all sorts of things.  In class this morning he has been listening to a really good story that Mrs Oldfield is reading to them.  Each morning Arsalan walks to school, which is great for this week's Walk to School Week.

Sacha-Lee really enjoyed her ice-cream yesterday, which her whole class got as a special treat for the best class attendance last week.  She thought it was really funny that her teacher, Mr So, even got to have some ice-cream, although he didn't get a cone and had to eat the small amount that was left from the container.  In class this morning she has been making something for Mum and Dad, but couldn't tell me what it was as it's a secret.

Zainabjaan Afshar Haydari in Koromiko

Zainabjaan is very good at reading and likes to read fun stories, especially about animals.  She lives a little way away so is unable to walk to school, but comes by car, so we said we would count that as wheels in Walk or Wheel to School Week.    Zainabjaan would like to be a Doctor when she grows up.

When Reuben grows up he said he would like to be a Treasure Hunter, which he said is something he quickly thought about and made up in his head.  He likes to work on his maths in class and at the moment is learning to count, so far he can count up to 152.

Khalea McCausland in Kōwhai

In class this morning, Khalea has been playing an exciting maths game called Buzz, which is a game of skill in which you have to answer maths questions, and she came really close to winning.  When Khalea grows up she would like to be a Doctor.

Ezra Xu in Mataī

Ezra would like to be a soccer player when he is older, so hopefully next year he will be able to join the school soccer team.  Whilst he was enjoying his chocolate biscuit and juice, he told us about what he was doing in class.  This morning he watched a small film about someone on a skateboard and has been busy working on his writing plan about what he saw.

Kaleb Singh in Tōtara

Kaleb likes reading in class, his favourite books are School Journals and he especially likes the one called After the Fire.  Kaleb joined in Wheels Week this morning by coming to school on his bike.  When Kaleb grows up he would either like to be a trucker or a Captain of a ship.
