Stars of the Week
Congratulations to this week's Stars of the Week, who are:
Tevunga Vaea in Titoki
Today, Tevunga is listening to the story about a cat that goes to bed. Yesterday her teacher read her a story about a witch, which she said her teacher said she would like to be, and although she likes their pointed hats, Tevunga would rather be a beautiful butterfly. She has already collected over 20 CARE cards and chose a pink (her favourite colour) squishy toy from the prize box.
Tyree McCausland in Kawakawa
At the moment, Tyree said he is learning lots of stuff at school, but said his favourite thing is listening to his teacher reading stories to the class. He said he is good at reading and also likes writing imaginative stories. Tyree said he likes to go hunting with his Dad and once came across a bear which they caught and ate - he said it tasted like chicken! He is busy collecting more CARE cards at the moment and hopes there will be some hotwheels cars in the prize box.
Khalea McCausland in Kowhai
Khalea is busy learning about halves and quarters in maths at the moment and said it is a bit tricky to get the hang of them. She had a great time at the weekend dressing up for Halloween and is looking forward to our mufti day on Friday when she can wear what she wants to school. Khalea recently achieved 60 CARE cards and chose a squishy ball for her prize, but would love to see play-doh added to the prize box.
Oriwa Cooper in Pohutukawa
Oriwa has been busy in class solving maths problems. She enjoys listening to stories that Ms Blomfield reads to the class. She's not sure if she is going to watch any fireworks this weekend, but said she loves the sparkly colours. She has achieved 115 CARE cards so far and would like to see more fidgets and scented pens in the prize box.
Kenzie Logan in Puriri
Kenzie loves to practice her writing in class. She enjoys holidays on the West Coast with her Dad but said she really likes Christchurch because it doesn't rain as much. Kenzie enjoys watching fireworks and agrees they are better to watch when it is dark outside. She is doing really well with her CARE cards and likes to choose popcorn and free time from the prize box. She said other prizes she would like to see in the box are slime, squishys and chalk.
Keeley MacDonald in Totara
Keeley has had a very busy morning testing for Casebrook next year and thinks she did really well. She likes to write when she's in class, but said she would rather be outside taking part in sport, especially sprints. Keeley is busy collecting CARE cards at the moment and said her favourite prize is popcorn and free time.
