Stars of the Week
Congratulations to this week's Stars of the Week, who are:
Laynee Bates in Tī-Kōuka
Laynee said she is a fast runner and is looking forward to taking part in the school's Athletics Day we are holding this Friday. She also likes jumping, so should do well with the long jump and high jump. Laynee loves to play with her friends during break times, especially on the big swing. Laynee enjoyed Trick or Treating yesterday and has saved most of her lollies to enjoy later.
Arsalan Hussaini in Kānuka
Arsalan is a big fan of Iron Man and loves to colour in pictures of him. He also likes to watch Iron Man cartoons and films. Arsalan likes to run, and also enjoys practising for the high jump and long jump. Arsalan said his favourite food is chicken nuggets, but he thinks the school lunches are pretty good too.
Zainabjaan Afshar Haydari in Koromiko
Although Zainabjaan said she is not too keen on sports day, she likes to run and said she can run really fast. She said she prefers to do activities in class, such as reading. Zainabjaan said her favourite food is watermelon.
Site Masoe in Kahikatea
Site is a fast runner and has plenty of practise running around the playground playing tag with his friends. In class his favourite subject is maths, which he enjoys to practise. Site's favourite food is pizza, as well as his mum's wonderful cooking.
Cassidy Rogal in Kōwhai
Cassidy said she is getting a new puppy next week, a male chihuahua that is going to be called Bear. Outside of school, Cassidy is very busy in the run up to Christmas, with parties to go to and gymnastic competitions, as well as other things. When she is in class Cassidy likes to practise her writing.
Vinz Delos Santos in Mataī
Vinz plays basketball for one of our local teams and recently travelled up to Rotorua to play in a competition there. He has also decided that next year he might try out for one of the school netball teams. Vinz enjoys art lessons and loves to draw. This morning he said the STAR testing went well.
Hamidah Rizwan Bistami in Tōtara
Hamidah is in Year 6 and next year will be going to Casebrook Intermediate, where she is looking forward to lessons in Hard Materials (wood). She would also like to try out volleyball and badminton lessons. In the meantime, she is looking forward to Athletics Day on Friday, especially taking part in the discus.
