Congratulations to this week's Stars of the Week, who are:
Harvey Cartwright in Kōwhai
Harvey said he does "lots of good stuff" in class and is learning lots of things. He has lost two of his front teeth and said he is growing his big boy teeth. Harvey said loves playing in class and listening to his Teacher.
Barry Moore in Koromiko
Barry was busy building a tower as big as himself in class this morning. He is also very good at counting and likes to read books. He said his favourite book is 'Tickle My Ears', which is about a rabbit that needs to go to sleep. Barry loves to play on the playground and his favourite is the swing. Barry has already achieved 60 Care Cards.
Ameika Sione Tindall in Koromiko
Ameika has been practising adding numbers together in maths this morning. She is looking forward to next week when the school gets a visit from the Life Education Van and, hopefully, Harold. Ameika likes playing in the playground and eating lunch with her friends. Ameika is a member of our Cultural Group and said she has really enjoyed the gymnastic lessons at school.
Leroy Pere-Epiha in Mataī
Leroy said he is in one of the smartest groups in his class, and this morning has been practising his writing and also filliing in a word search and practising his handwriting. Leroy likes playing on the playground with his friends. Leroy enjoys being a member of our Cultural Group and also likes lots of different sports. At home he likes to play soccer, basketball and rugby with his brother and sisters, and often has family sports games.
Harley Purcell-Sanders in Tī Kōuka
Harley said tomorrow is his 8th birthday and he is hoping to have a chocolate birthday cake. In class this morning he has been learning about the human skeleton and said he likes learning about bones. Harley said he really enjoys learning about new things. When Harley grows up he said he would like to be a Police Officer. Harley said he is really looking forward to Easter.
Site Masoe in Kahikatea
Site has been reading in class this morning, which he said is quite easy. He said he loves to read interesting facts about things. Site said he loves to play soccer each day with his friends on the school field and is hoping to join the school soccer team this year now that he is in Year 5. Next year when Site is in Year 6 he is hoping to be one of our Student Leaders.
Makere Taare Pao-Toleafoa in Tōtara
Makere has been making rice bubble cakes in Group this morning. She said they tasted very nice. Makere said at the weekend she had a sleepover with her friend and they watched scary videos, which she said she likes watching, but they did have a little bit of trouble getting off to sleep. The next day they went to Sumner beach and had fun playing in the water.
