Room 16 Taking part in NZ Census for Kids

Hayden Inkster —

Across the country school aged children have been taking part in Census for Kids. Room 16 decided to be apart of this activity as well.

Room 16 has been collecting information about themselves for the census activity. The information we collected was all part of the NZ census for kids that is being held across the country with school age children. Some of the questions included how long we spend on homework each night and how long it takes us to get to and from school. We also had measuring tapes to measure our arm spans, height, neck, wrists and feet.

We then used timers so we could time how long we could stand on our left foot and had scales to see how heavy our bags and devices were.

We then entered the data on an online survey called  Census for Kids.

In July we will be able to look at all the collated data from children our age across the country and compare our answers to the rest of the country.
