Music is back at Bluestone
Bluestone is has started teaching music this year again. Mr. Al Walker is running bands on Wednesdays in the music room. Mr. Walker was overwhelmed with the number of students wanting to learn and/or improve their musical skills, either playing an instrument or singing. The number of different instruments, for example: guitar and electric guitar, drums and so on.
When it comes to singing, Mrs. Maude, is teaching choir and marimba to students of the High Flyers and Think Tank levels weekly, a cohort of about 20 students.
Sheryl started teaching music lessons to the Think Tank syndicate on Wednesdays, which include singing, voice and sound coordination and playing musical instruments. Students are taught half an hour as a whole classroom, which allows them to experience cooperation and tuning in a large group. Sound awareness and a sense of rhythm and beat were the latest focus of our lessons. Students used boom whackers to learn and experience the co-ordinated drumming. Sheryl will be teaching the Think Tank pod the prize giving / leavers’ song at the end of the year.
