Nigel Latta to meet Bluestone parents

Iain Bamber —

The Board of Bluestone have secured an evening with Nigel Latta. It's exclusively for Bluestone parents and it's free.

Book October 13th in your diaries because you won't want to miss "An evening with Nigel Latta: Why telling your kids they’re smart isn't very smart".

Yes Nigel Latta, the critically acclaimed New Zealand psychologist is coming to Bluestone in October this year. He's just concluded his series of blowing stuff up. He's finished working out how the Antarctic works and he's back on the road helping parents solve the riddles of parenthood and education in the modern world.

Late last year the Board approached Nigel to see if he would come and speak exclusively to Bluestone parents. In his own inimitable style Nigel embraced the opportunity to talk to you creating a show uniquely for Bluestone. It is about your child's education and about what you can do to help them become better teenagers and ultimately great citizens of New Zealand.

In this entertaining and irreverent show Nigel will blow up a pile up myths about what is and isn't important when it comes to children and education. Given that for most parents education is one of their key concerns, it is important to be informed about the things that matter, and the things that don’t. There is an awful lot of opinion dressed up as fact, and just as much hokey science presented as gospel. The good news is that there are some very simple things you can do which provide your children with the best foundations to reach their educational potential and the even better news is that they don’t cost anything. It turns out the best things in life really are free.

This event is free to Bluestone Parents only, tickets will be made available in July and allocated on a first come first served basis (but in the first instance only two tickets per Bluestone Family). This is an adults only event. More details to follow.
