The Hour of Code

Nikki Geddis —

Every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer science.

The Hour of Code is a global movement by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries through a one-hour introduction to computer science and computer programming.

Each class in the High Flyers have (or will have) experienced an Hour of Code by the end of the year. The children complete an hour long tutorial which introduces the basics of computer coding. We decided to get involved because we need to prepare our kids for an ever-changing world and an ever-changing workplace. Computer coding and programming are becoming sought after skills. Technology is the way of the future so let's give our kids the skills they need to succeed!
