Room 10's Magic Glasses

Justine Reihana —

Room 10 read a poem about a boy that could see unusual things through his glasses

At the end of last term Room 10 read a poem by Jill Eggleton called Hugo's Glasses. Hugo could see things through his glasses that no-one else could. The students used their imagination to write a poem, they drew pictures of what they saw to create their own magical poems. Here are some examples. If you'd like to see more, pop into Room 10 and read the students creations.

Faith’s Glasses

When I wear my glasses,

it's amazing what I see.

Flying houses.

Dancing dinosaurs.

A house full of carnivores.

A t-shirt climbing up a tree.

An animal city.

When I wear my glasses,

it's amazing what I see.

Paige’s Glasses

When I wear my glasses,

it’s amazing what I see.

Dancing chips and a dog at school.

A queen horse with a cat.

Raining marshmallows and singing flowers.

Flamingoes having a dance party.

When I wear my glasses,

it’s amazing what I see.

Cooper’s Glasses

When I wear my glasses,

it’s amazing what I see.

Trees barking at the sky.

Books shouting to some trains.

Trains zooming through the air.

When I wear my glasses,

it’s amazing what I see.

Rhylan’s Glasses

When I wear my glasses,

it's amazing what I see.

Rabbits driving cars.

Gorillas swimming and cats eating pizza.

Dogs playing laser tag and monkeys dancing in the forest.

Robots riding bikes.

When I wear my glasses,

it's amazing what I see.
