South Canterbury Sports has modelled this on the inter-town Top Town Competition televised during 1976. They are a charitable trust who create opportunities for participation, development and sporting success in our communities.

South Canterbury Sports have designed 22 new games that relate to a wide variety of school aged children. Top team games test teamwork, initiative, problem solving and communication skills. Students are teamed up to compete against each other in a circuit of activity and obstacle stations.

In the Top team Challenge, the winning performance comes from the best 'all round' team. The Top Team Challenge encourages maximum participation and fun.
