Room 20 tackle 3D Shapes, Nets and Isometric Drawing!

Rebecca Hamilton —

Room 20 students have been learning to identify the features of 3D Shapes. They have been learning to also draw isometric shapes.

The complexity in drawing isometric shapes has challenged the students to explore the depth of cubes and to visualise the sides they cannot see.

The students have really enjoyed the challenge of exploring, using engaging hands-on tasks. They have used Tinkercad a computer design programme to explore drawing 3D shapes as well.

The students have also explored 3D Nets ( flat representations of 3d shapes which can be made to form the shapes).

This work is leading into our combined STEM work with Room 19.  Keep an eye out for further work articles.
