Success at Flava Festival for Bluestone
At the annual Flava Festival, Bluestone met with success in Kapahaka , Performing Arts, and Visual Arts
Whaea Lee prepared our kapahaka performance group, Manawanui who were the first performers of the day. The standard they set was wonderful and provided a great start to the event. Our students provided their own musical accompaniment. Lincoln was awarded the top male lead with his confident performance. Rebekah was named in second place for female leaders.
In the Performing Arts Bluestone was placed first. This was a terrific result as the students themselves, led by Brianna, planned and prepared the item.
In the Visual Arts section a wonderful display of work from our bilingual room made quite an impression. Arly won the top prize in Visual Arts.
To end the day Bluestone was named as second overall for the Flava Festival.
We really appreciated the efforts students involved made in the weeks leading up to Flava. We also need to recognise the great contribution from Whaea Lee, Karyn Grace, Justine Reihana, and Siobhan Wilsher, Debbie Meynell, and Sasha Frame. We acknowledge the support of so many parents. A big thank you to you all!
