Room 17 students have been creating wonderful fish prints using cardboard blocks.

It's amazing just what can be created using old cardboard shoe boxes, and assorted grocery boxes. We began (as we so often do) with detailed observational drawings of fish. The kind fishmonger, Frances from Talleys, gave us a gurnard, a dogfish, and a lovely wee seahorse to draw.  We used these drawings to make cardboard blocks, and after weeks of work adding lots of detail, were finally ready to print. It was a really satisfying afternoon exploring lots of ways to print our lovely fish.
