On 9th of August at 7:30pm 3 years 7 and 8 teams from Bluestone school competed at the Aoraki maths competition in the Timaru Boys High Hall.

 The Yr 7 team of Logan Dunne, Aisha Wakefield, Alex Cuthbertson and Mary Thorp competed in the competition. After 30 mins they had successfully answered 18 questions and were in a 3 -way tie for 2nd.  The first question in the tie-breaker was too difficult with no team answering it correctly. The 2nd question saw our team take out 3rd place by answering it 2nd by only a few seconds. 

Team 1 Yr 8 members  Asher Coe, Ella Kavanaugh, Ben Davis and Harley Hurst. The members in team 2 were Macie Watts, Sophie Coe, Seth Turner and Noah Healy. Of all there the 30 teams competing, the 2 year 8 got into the top 6 overall. 

 The year 8 teams were labelled Bluestone A and Bluestone B ( A= team 1 B= team 2) team 2 got 16 out of 20 correct and skipped 2 of the questions and team 1 got 15 out of 20 correct and skipped 3 questions.
