ART, SCIENCE and READING

The children in Room 21 are still very busy at work. We have just completed some mixed media, ink and newspaper interpretations of the Water Cycle, our Science focus for the term. In Reading we have been working in interest groups doing research on different animals or planes. We are in the process of making posters to share what we have learnt. 

We are also in the process of making narrative stories to take home at the end of the term.

Following are some extracts from some of the stories. They are exciting works in progress...

The Queen’s Crown is Missing

Once upon a time there was a kingdom, and in that kingdom there was a queen. Well queens have crowns right? I know it’s obvious but if you didn’t know you will definitely need to for this story. If you want to hear it, stick around and let the story begin.

The Queen’s Crown is Missing

There once was a twenty two year old boy robber named Jake who had black hair. He looked just like any normal robber when he was up to no good because he wore what any robber would wear when he was robbing. He lived in a black house.

There was also was a 25 year old boy detective. He had a blue t-shirt , black trousers and black hair. His name was Hank. He lived in a two storey house which was white.

One Monday Jake the robber went to look at the crown in the Tower of London to plan what he was going to do.

He did not see any vents in the roof of the Tower of London that were big enough fit in so he had to think of a new plan. The new plan was to be under cover as a guard. He knew it would work.

First he got a job as a guard. Then he had to do the 'Waiting Game'.

The next day he got to guard the crown. When the Tower of London got closed for the night he said to the next guard “You can go. I’ll keep guard”. The guard was not that good because he fell for it.

Jake saw a lock. He pulled out a paper clip and a Phillip’s Screwdriver to unlock the lock.

Jake whispered “I only have 3 paper clips.

2 broke but the last... worked!”

Jake will have run to escape or hide the crown as he goes around and blend in.

He did hide the crown and blend in with the other guards.

Ten minutes later he was at the gate.

Jake said “My shift is over.”

Then Jake went home and hid the crown...

Hank heard the phone he was excited.

A guard said on the phone “The Queen’s crown has been stolen!” Hank replied “Oh my!”

I'm sure you'll all want to hear more from Zoe and Luca. We can't wait for them to complete their work!
