Māori Language Week is an annual event that exists to celebrate the culture and language of the Māori people.
On September 14 at 12pm people around Aotearoa (and around the world) were invited to stop what they were doing and celebrate te reo Māori.
Bluestone Kura participated in this Te Reo Moment with various activities:
- Outside playing Tapu AE
- Counting in te reo Māori
- Singing He Hōnore (traditional waiata about honour)
- Outside playing Maunga/Awa/Waka
- Singing a waiata about our tinana (body)
- Playing Takaro card games
- Colouring by number
- Listening to te reo Māori pronunciation
- Creating a whare
