Tongan Language Week
As part of Tongan Language Week we had a visit from our local Tongan Society.
Last Thursday morning our local Tongan Society came to share with us some lea fakatonga (Tongan language), greetings and songs. We had Bluestone fānau (children) who are part of the Tongan Society performing in this group. We were very proud of the way they confidently shared some of their culture, language and dance with us. Some older Tongan boys also performed a dance with great enthusiasm. Our Bluestone students really enjoyed learning some language and having the opportunity to view these dances. Have a look at the videos below to see why we were so impressed.
