Throughout the year our students embrace Te Reo, kapahaka, practise their mihis, and celebrate Maori culture. To celebrate Matariki we have a strong focus each year.

At Bluestone we celebrate our Māori culture at the beginning of Matariki. Teachers make a particular effort to emphasis integrating Te Reo as well as studying the meaning of Matariki and celebrating this event.

This year many classes have made kites decorated with traditional kowhaiwhai designs. Children performed a waiata at assembly using rakau.
