Bluestone Book Sale
Bluestone annual ex library book sale
The annual Ex Library Book sale is being held this week during lunchtimes at our Library from Monday to Friday (25th-29th Nov.). Mrs. Hawker has covered two desks and a couple of browser boxes full of books to purchase. The books cost only 20cents each. They have been deleted from the library collection to make room for new arrivals. The book sale is a bargain for our book enthusiasts, but also books make the perfect present for anyone. Bluestone’s book worms have already stormed the library on Monday to secure their favourite books.
Five of our Library helpers (Eloise Howard, Zen Wakefield, Nancy-Jane Aitken, Mila Verge and Regan Muir) interviewed Mrs. Hawker and some Bluestone students in regards to the Book sale. Mrs. Hawker is the most excited about getting new books into the Library and from seeing other people happily finding their previously borrowed favourite books on sale. The most challenging part of the event is to run the whole show, luckily there are students always happy to help. Mrs. Hawker advises students to be quick to come in and search for books, although she discourages students from pushing. One can certainly find books to match students’ passions or get a book for a friend to suit their interests.
Students interviewed at the Library on Monday were excited about the many different titles on offer for such a low price. They would welcome more books and a larger space to shop. The first day proved to be crowded and noisy, so more helpers are welcome please. When it comes to the book titles, students would like to see more books about IQ and bilingual books in the future. Students also advised those who are not into books to read the back of the books or the blurbs first to have a first taste before buying or borrowing. After all, reading a book is a way to see a different world, it exercises many skills, enhances intelligence and sparks our imaginations.
