Rebuilding Scott Base block by block
This year some of Bluestone's Yr 5-8 students have been involved in a project of building the new Scott Base in Minecraft
The project has involved over 450 students across Timaru North and South Kahui Ako. Students have had certain parts of the rebuild in each session. Wilj from ImpactEd has been working with the students over a number of sessions. They have had to watch videos and read the plans to build Scott Base in Minecraft then. In the last session teams of students had to spend time creating their own personalised Haagland The project has gained some incredible momentum and Antartctica NZ and Venture Timaru are now working alongside the project to share the amazing mahi the students have been doing. Later in Term 4 there is going to be a community launch of the rebuild which will involve showcasing the work the students have been involved in.
