'Girls Can Code' enrichment for High Flyers
On Tuesday 8 girls from the Year, 5/6 pod were lucky enough to go to an 'all' girls coding workshop at the Landing Services Building. In this workshop, the girls experienced different coding activities at different stations.
This event was held as part of National Tech Week. There were a number of schools involved in the event from around the region. This year the focus was getting girls involved in coding and robotics. We are very fortunate here at Bluestone to have our own robots and this event was an enrichment experience for the girls who were selected.
They really enjoyed the Makey-Makey Scratch, Binary Coding and Sphero stations and the girls had a fabulous time. Attendees were: Alex Noble, Isobel Noble, Nicole Teixeira, Kaiya Scott, Tamzyn Elder, Macie-Jade Watts, Hollie Cournane and Paige Dahren-Kirby.
