BBQ for Lifepod

Daniel Finlayson —

On Tuesday and Wednesday of week 3, the students of Room 16 organised and ran a sausage sizzle to raise funds towards a Lifepod.

After our recent mufti day, we were left only a few hundred dollars from our schools target of $2000, the amount needed to fund a Lifepod. After some brainstorming the students of Room 16 decided a sausage sizzle could be a great way to raise some of the money needed.

The students did a pricing plan to find out how much each sausage would cost with bread, sauce and a napkin. They then needed to come up with a price for the sausages that would cover the cost and allow us to raise some money.    Once the pricing was set up, students thought about ways that the Bluestone students could order the sausages and collect the money. Over a week the students from Room 16 collected money and kept a total of the number of sausages ordered. Finally on Tuesday and Wednesday lunchtimes, with the help of Mr Poulter and Mr Redhead, over 350 sausages were cooked and given to hungry and happy Bluestone students.

We can be please to announce that through the sausage sizzle we raised a total of $408. Bluestone is now only $80 away from our target of $2000 to fund a Lifepod.

Room 16 can be very proud of the way they all worked as a team to achieve goal and raise money for a great cause.
