Bluestone won the Year 5-6 section and were second by just one point in the Year 7-8 section. A huge thank you to Gillian Ross for preparing and encouraging our teams so well.

The 2015 South Canterbury Kids Book Quiz was hosted at Bluestone on 22 October. The school hall was packed with 21 teams of enthusiastic readers from nine schools. Teams of four answered eight rounds of questions delivered very ably by the MC for the event Justin McLauchlan, manager of Timaru District Libraries.

The Year 5/6 winning team was from Bluestone  with team members Mason Waters, Toby Clemett, Meg Stevenson and Briana Grace. Runners up were St Joseph's Timaru and third Grantlea Downs.

The Year 7/8 winning team was from Craighead who just pipped our Bluestone 2 team by one point. Third place went to Gleniti. The Bluestone team of Samuel Blades, Natalia Watts, Tony Sanderson and Jorgiana Cassidy should be very pleased with their effort.

Place getters all received Whitcoulls vouchers.

This was a very successful quiz and although some of the questions were challenging everyone seemed to enjoy it. An event like this is a great way to celebrate reading combined with some spirited competition.
