Our Pen Pals!
We have been exchanging letters with Iva Primary School in Samoa!
During the school holidays Miss Arscott went on a trip to Samoa to go and visit Iva Primary School. We thought it would be a great opportunity to write them some letters introducing ourselves and where we come from and also to ask them some questions to find out a little bit more of what their life is like in Samoa. We wrote our letters and gave them to Miss Arscott. She packed them into her suitcase and they travelled with her all the way over to Samoa.
Iva Primary School were really excited to receive our letters and although they did not speak much English, they wrote back to us introducing themselves and telling us a little bit about what their life is like in Samoa. It was so exciting receiving their letters and we have just recently sent reply letters back to them. This has been a really great experience for the children in Room 4 to connect with children from another country. It has sparked some great discussion and inquiry which we have been exploring.
Thanks to Miss Arscott for delivering our letters. We hope to send some Christmas cards over to Iva Primary School at the end of the year!
