New Appointment from Term 2, 2021

The Bluestone School Board of Trustees are very pleased to announce the appointment of Darren Smith as the new Principal of Bluestone School.

The Board of Trustees would like to thank our whanau and staff for their patience during this process. We believe that finding the right person was worth the wait and we were eventually very lucky to receive a number of quality applications for this role. We were exceptionally pleased with the high calibre of the applicants and after a rigorous process we are able to announce the appointment of Darren Smith as our new Principal of Bluestone School.

Darren is already known to Bluestone as he joined us as a fixed term teacher a few years back after moving to Timaru. He previously was for many years a highly respected Principal at St. Leonards Road School in Auckland. Darren will take over as Principal at the start of Term 2.

At the same time the Board of Trustees wants to whole-heartedly thank Vicki Zonnevylle for stepping into the shoe's of Acting Principal during this process. Vicki has done an outstanding job and we have every faith that through her passion, support and commitment to Bluestone we will continue to see a great leadership team for our tamariki and staff.

We look forward to working alongside Darren to continue to drive our kura into the future while providing the best educational opportunities for our students.
