On Thursday 11th November a group of yr 5-8 students worked with Wilj from ImpactEd on a challenge in Minecraft.

They learnt about the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals https://sdgs.un.org/goals and how these call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognise that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests. With these goals in mind, the students worked in groups to build a sustainable solution that helps address one of the 17 goals in Minecraft. Some of the builds included a fully off-the-grid farm, an underwater robot to clean up the ocean floor of rubbish, and animal rescue shelters.
