Heartland Ricoh Inter School Cycling Competition - come along and help Bluestone win the trophy.  The more students we have in the races, the more chances we have!!  Grab your bike and come and join the fun.

9 students represented Bluestone at the SC Mountain Bike Race for 2016, which was held in the Scenic Reserve.  In the B grade year 5/6 races were, Emily Toomey, Shaun Mullings, Aiden Sorenson.  A grade year 5/6 boy, Noah Hollamby.   A grade year 7/8 Jaxson Whyte, B grade Noah Cook, Zac McLennan, Connor Guthrie, Joshua Aronsen.

Emily won her grade, Noah Hollamby 3rd, Noah Cook 1st, Zac McLennan 2nd and Jaxson Whyte 2nd.

A big thank you to Katrina Whyte and Amy Hollamby who supervised the team for the day.

Heartland Ricoh Inter School Cycling Competition

Where: Levels International Motor Raceway, Falvey Road, Levels, Timaru

When: Wednesday Evenings 6pm

10 week series starting 16th November 2016

Start Time: Students to report to the Pit Area (Pit Lane in front of the control tower) at 5.45pm for race briefing.

Entry Fee: $3.00 per night. Entries to be paid on night. Sign on 30 mins prior to start.

Gearing: All Individuals are responsible for ensuring that the gearing is correct. Locked out at 6m for under 15 riders and 7m for under riders. Any school/ individual not sure on locking out gearing needs to contact your local cycle shop.

Races: Each week may include different races such as Scratch, Handicap, Team Time Trial or an Individual Time Trial. There is two grades, under 17 which is 16km and development which is 8km

General Information:

· This is a fun series aimed at encouraging school aged kids to have a go at cycling in a safe environment. All ability levels will be catered for.

· Points awarded to individual schools for each rider as follows: 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 and 2 points for a start and finish of race. A trophy to be awarded to school scoring most points overall in series.

· First Aid Available

· No aero bars or carbon wheels are permitted.

· In the event of a team time trial, teams must comprise of three riders from the same school. Time will be taken on third rider across the line.

· Teams may be made up of both senior and junior riders.

· Composite teams are permitted
