Hi Families, This fortnight I want to talk to you about our school's celebration of Matariki.Matariki is the celebration of the Maori New Year.

We are having assemblies this term on even weeks: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 on Friday mornings in our school hall. Juniors at 9am and Seniors from 10.25 am in our school hall.

What's on in the community:

Room 19 and all of High Flyers have had an artistic focus on Printmaking

Room 8 were very excited to be the winners of the Term 3 Kiwi Can class party.

Team Explorer have been studying Planet Earth and Beyond this term and we chose this theme for our Wearable Arts Show.

Room 1 (and other classes of Creative Creatures) have been learning to skip with a rope. We can do a running skip, a jumping skip, a fast skip (usually called Pepper) and a backward turn skip.

Term 4 is a hat wearing term. Please ensure your child has one ready to go for the first Monday.

On September 14 at 12pm people around Aotearoa (and around the world) were invited to stop what they were doing and celebrate te reo Māori.

We want to celebrate all our students who entered the recent Sanford Science and Technology Fair Competition but most importantly we want to acknowledge our two prize recipients. Emma Carson-Iles and Penny Chamberlain.

Our school is governed by a Board of Trustees and we are looking for parents to stand in the coming elections.
