Staying Active, Staying Well

Nikki Clarke —

Being active and keeping your body moving is so important while we are at home! Have a go at some of these ideas!

Physical Activity at Home

Create a 15 minute activity that could be used during fitness at school.

Document your physical activity in a physical activity log or diary

Check out this hauora calendar of ideas from the Sport Canterbury Team.   This would be a great licence task!

Create a fitness lesson or game for your family. Take photos, get feedback and present and this could be a licence task!

Get the family together and have a go at letterbox cricket

Offer to mow the lawns and tidy the garden.

Have a go at the Active for Wellbeing April Calendar.

Mindfulness at Home

Colouring / painting / drawing - lots of ideas here

Mindful activities - download the Smiling Mind App on your phone.

Write down / draw positive experiences that you have done whilst being in lockdown.  This journal might be helpful.

Lie down, close your eyes and listen to relaxing music

Spend 20 mins outside just cloud watching. You could draw what you see.
