On Wednesday 6th of December, all the Breens kids went to New Brighton for the Tough Kids Challenge.    This was organised by Sport Canterbury and Primary Sport Canterbury.  Over two days, they had 5000 kids taking part!

We went in separate buses, and when we arrived at the park for the challenge, we sat in two sections to wait until we were running. We started off by dancing to the music they had playing but then Hiwai got called to go first (because they had Technology when they got back.) They lined up and then they started. After about 20 minutes it was Hirere’s turn and then next up it was Mapuna. 

The race consisted of lots of obstacles such as tyres, ropes, bouncy castles, and heaps of water and bubbles. We also had to run along a bridge next to the water and it smelled really bad. But at the end we got washed off by the bubble water so it was Ok. We were all tired but happy on the way home.
