Here we outline some happenings & events which may be of interest to our Breens community.
- Delta Rhythmic Gymnastics Club has some spaces available now! Classes are held at Middleton Grange, Breens Intermediate and Fendalton Community Centre. Please contact us at membership@delta.org.nz to register for a free trial lesson.
- Papanui Youth Development Trust - Interested in learning how to make Electronic Music after school? Come down and make use of the awesome Music Recording & production facilities at the Papanui Youth Centre. You will learn to make music on computers using a range of tools, including some of the best in the industry and also simple web software you can take home with you! Students will gain skills in simple Music Theory, Beat Making, Sound Design, Arranging, Mixing Sound, Recording instruments, Remixing songs and more! During weekly sessions, students will be shown how to get the essentials skills down and given the tools they need to create the type of music they are interested in. Current and past students have even had their music uploaded to Spotify & Soundcloud! The BeatONE programme is a great option for students who already enjoy the school music programme, giving them a chance to spend more time with the technology, while also being really accessible to those who have never touched an instrument before! - Burnside Rugby Football Club 2020 - February is Junior Registration Month!Our main registration, mix and mingle evening for the 2020 Junior season will be held at the Burnside Clubrooms on Avonhead Rd on Friday 14th February 6pm to 9pm Follow-up registration sessions will be held on Sunday 23rd February 10am to 12.30pm & Monday 2nd March 4.30pm to 6.30pm. The Burnside Rugby Junior Section caters for all school age children and we welcome new and returning players for the 2020 season. Volleyball for Year 7/8 Students: Canterbury Volleyball run separate programmes for both Indoor and Beach Volleyball that allows students to learn the skills of both games. Our Indoor KiwiVolley sessions are on Wednesdays, starting 19th February, from 4.15pm to 5.45pm at St Margarets College Gym, Winchester St, Merivale, or Hillview Christian School, Wilsons Rd, St Martins.
