Basketball at Breens continues to be a really popular sport for our students

Nathan Maclennan —

Basketball at Breens - term 3 has been really busy for sport and basketball is no exception. This year we have 60 students and 7 teams entered into the YMCA Basketball Competition.

Basketball at Breens Term 3 has been really busy for sport and basketball is no exception.

This year we have 7 basketball teams playing called:

-Breakers

-Bullets

-Broncos

-Bulldogs

-Bulls

-Best

-Girls

The teams are all competing at the Bishopdale YMCA in the Friday night competition. We all go down on a Friday night showing our Beautiful Breens Values. Some of us go down there earlier and watch people play their games. We all might watch a couple games to cheer on other opponents and our school.

We spend most of our lunch times at school playing games or training or just “shooting hoops”. Training for the teams will be on Wednesdays: Breakers, Bullets, and the Girls at 8am on and Bulldogs and the Best and Broncos, Bulls are at lunchtime.

People love basketball. It is really popular at Breens as you see it has 7 teams.  Every single person in the team participates. Personally I think everyone loves coming down on a Friday night to get out of the house  and do something active and to spend the rest of their time hanging out with friends.

People have to be good and stay on track to be able to play on Fridays so we are all keen to have a good week and play our games.

We really appreciate the teachers coming down and taking time to  support the Breens kids.  Thanks to Mr M and Mrs Marryatt for organising our game times and for taking time after school on a Friday to help run the teams:)

Thanks also to all our whānau and supporters who come down and cheer us on - we really appreciate your support!
