On Thursday 22nd of June the Breens Intermediate School choir performed at the North West Music Festival.

In the morning we had a rehearsal at the Aurora Centre at Burnside High School. This was a long rehearsal and we had to sit and stand where we would be performing that night.

When we got back to school we rehearsed our Breens songs before going back to class.

For the performance we had to go to a room at the Aurora Centre to warm up. Our choir was the first to perform by ourselves. The choir were all feeling nervous but excited to perform to an audience of approximately 700 people.

Our first song was “You Raise Me Up” and Stephane, Arthur and Sam sang the solo part.

Our second song was “Sing From Your Heart”.

When we had finished our songs we went and sat down to listen to the other choirs and orchestra and also performed in the massed items.

We thought it was a little stressful singing the solos because we wanted to make Maggie proud of us. We were focusing on singing, and we didn’t notice the audience. Afterwards we were all buzzing from the performance and we are excited for our next one.
