It was a beautiful place to stay and the kereru swooped down, piwakawaka chirped gleefully and weka shuffled around the bush full of native plant species.

The highlights from Hiwai camp were:

- The activities, they were challenging but exciting.

- Flying fox and high ropes were the best two activities.

- Singing happy birthday to two of the students/parents, because in the hall where we eat, everything echoes so when we unified, it made a wonderful sound.

- The wildlife, it was a beautiful place to stay and the kereru swooped down, piwakawaka chirped gleefully and weka shuffled around the bush full of native plant species.

- The cabins were a big highlight, lots of space, we had all our friends in one.

There were some funny moments including;

Pass the rubber chicken, getting a bit lost in orienteering, Dal’s cabin concerts, finding the wasp’s nest, the kereru, cicadas randomly landing on people and falling over in the dark.
