Kia ora koutou Parents and Friends of the School

As I write this, I can hear the Kapa Haka practising in the hall for this weekend's Tūhono competition at the Christchurch Town Hall.    This has been a year of learning, practising and refining their skills and we are excited to see them all shine on stage on Saturday evening!   A huge thank you to our tutors - Norm, Steve, Bonnie and supporting staff - Jill and Grant.   Good luck to them all for the competition!

Our Pasifika group have also been super busy today preparing food and practising their items ahead of the Fia Fia evening.     There has been much excitement today in anticipation!     

The recent Arts Evening has been a real highlight of this term.   We loved seeing so many of you here on the night, it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate those students who excel in the Arts.    It was special also to have two of our Breens Alumni there to present the NZ Dance Award on the night!  

Congratulations to the 35 athletes who represented our school at the CAIMS Athletics Meet yesterday!   We are so proud of the way you conducted yourself and challenged yourself to be your best!   

I was pleased to be able to see the first Christchurch Aqua Bot competition in action at Jellie Park on Wednesday.    These children demonstrated just how clever they are after building their Aqua Bots this term and then manipulated them under the water through a series of difficult obstacles and challenges.     

Congratulations to the Mr Josland and the students who have been involved in the Canterbury Digi Awards this term.   Coming away from that event with two top placings was brilliant!  

The next few weeks are a really special time for us as we enjoy time with our students ahead of Christmas and celebrate progress and achievement across the school.
